Culture

As a result of Swedish and Russian rule, cultural influences are still notable. Today, cultural influences from North America are prominent. Beyond tourism, Finnish youth in particular have been increasing their contact with peoples from outside Finland by travelling abroad to both work and study.

Pronunciation

Finnish has regular pronunciation without many exceptions. Usually, Finnish words are pronounced just like they are spelled. Keep these differences between Finnish and English vowels in mind when pronouncing
